You’ve been wanting to know what I think about her newest music video, “Window Seat”?
It’s bizarre.
Do not get me wrong. The song is tough. The JFK assassination site and the naked shot thing and the way she jerks to the ground is just too much to bear. It’s too weird.
Yet still I must interject. All the insence burning, , mandal wearing Negroes all see this as sooo creative and innovative. I would’ve seen it as creative had it not been so strange at the end. I would’ve seen it as innovative if it weren’t t for the fact that we saw this 10 years ago:

Now look at him:
Yeeeeeesh.
Hand it to her: the mission was accomplished: those who did not know Ms. Badu was releasing a new album damn sure do now, the image of her ass is ingrained in their memories. If not, the weird perv-y Indian guy on the curb while Erykah still has on her undergarments is. (Why does he have to smile like that?)
At the very least, if you, too are weirded out by the vid for “Window Seat”, please do not let that deter you from listening to the entire album, or, reading it’s (quite long) title: New Amerykah Part Two: Return Of The Ankh it is absolutely worth taking with you on your iPod during…whatever it is you do when the days come.
