Black History Month Vs. Black History Monf
To many, February can signify several different things:

(Why am I basing the next month and a half of my life around some sort of porcupine-rat-squirrel hybrid?)
But what about this one?

For 28 (and sometimes 29) days out of every 2nd month of the new year, we celebrate the milieu of accomplishments Black people have achieved. Black history month is not here just to educate Black folks on the excellences of one group, but to inspire, teach & unite people of all races & creeds to mesh & make it all a shared history. Contrary to popular belief, “they did not give us” the shortest month of the year.

Dr. Carter G. Woodson began Negro history week in 1926, corresponding with the birthdays of some Presidents you may have heard of. (One of which is a halfie. I’ll let you figure that one out)

By 1976 it was renamed & had commandeered the entire month.
Sometimes, the milestones in the African diaspora are often marred by the…

ignorance it sometimes displays.
That is the exact concept behind Black History Month vs. Black History Monf.
P.S.: You will never see Dr. Carter G. Woodson & Lil’ Jon in such close proximity again.
Check in for all things Black History!
